A good building is only as good as its structure, and a good architectural design is only as good as its inherent structural design.
If your project involves any structural work, no matter how small, your approved building inspector will require structural calculations or at least a structural statement (as is required also for some planning applications which involved significant structural works , e.g. retrospective basements) to prove that your design is structurally fit for purpose.
4 Point Plans's engineers are sufficiently qualified and professionally indemnified to handle any calculations that you might require during the building control approval stage, or at any time after. And if we are handling the drawings and design for you it will save you considerable time and money as opposed to employing an independent engineer.
If required our engineers will make site visits during the build phase or if you require any other structural advice in advance of your project. Let us know if you need an initial structural consultation or you require structural advice for a small renovation project such as an open-plan knock-through.
4Point Plans can also provide detailed structural designs with detailed drawings and calculations in support of an architectural design you might already have approval for but which is lacking the structural engineering input. We can check the validity of your architectural design with a site visit, consultation, and survey, or if you so wish you can email or post us the drawings and/or CAD files for fleshing out with the required structural information.
Once all approvals have been granted you will be in a position to start the next phase - construction.
